- Abstract
To explore the impact of trousers stress on female thigh fatigue during running, five female undergraduates were selected as subjects and their thigh trousers pressure and sEMG (surface electromyography) were measured during running in running pants with different press. RMS (Root Mean Square) was used as the analysis indicator of myoelectric signals. EMG data were extracted by use of EMGworks Analysis software. The paired T test and one-way ANOVA test were performed using SPSS. It was found that muscle fatigue mainly occurs in the middle and late period of running; proper trousers pressure can inhibit muscle fatigue; no pants pressure or excessive pants pressure has no effect on inhibiting muscle fatigue, and even may induce muscle fatigue. The clothing pressure range for inhibiting muscle fatigue was 1.89 - 3. 23 kPa for the rectus femoris muscle, 2. 07 kPa for the vastus lateralis muscle, 2.33 kPa for the medial femoral muscle, and 1.94-2.30 kPa for the biceps femoral muscle. The results showed that the pant pressure increased 1. 02 - 1. 41 kPa, when the thigh circumference was reduced by 2 cm, which provided a recommendation to women running enthusiasts when they were choosing 80% nylon and 20% spandex blended running pants.
