- Abstract
The article discusses a study of the flame retardancy and dielectric properties of dicyclopentadiene-based benzoxazine (DCPDBZ) from dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) phenol adduct. Acros of New Jersey has provided the chemicals used in the study. It explains the two-step process in DCPD phenol novolac (DCPDNO) formation. The lower dielectric constant and dissipation factor demonstrated by the cured DCPDBZ/diphenolic resins were attributed to the low polarity of the cycloaliphatic DCPD structure.
