The article reports on the trends in health care use for the treatment of kidney cancer identified by the Urologic Diseases in America project. The author said that the goals of this project were to identify trends in incidence, treatment and cost, and provide a foundation of knowledge concerning the health care burden of kidney cancer as a springboard for further clinical and outcomes research in the future. The incidence of renal cell cancer has been rising in the last 3 decades.
