- Abstract
The article discusses the history of the steamship the "Meteor" on Lake Tahoe of California and Nevada from 1876 through the 1930s. An overview of the "Meteor's" design, including its deck, boiler and iron hull, is provided. An overview of the "Meteor's" Captain Ernest Pomin, including his giving U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant a ride in the boat, is also provided. The author's role in designing a model of the "Meteor" is discussed.
