- Abstract
The food consumption markers of children aged 6 to 23 months and 29 days who attended Basic Health Units (UBS) in the municipality of Guarapuava-PR, between 2016 and 2019, were verified. The food records available in the Food and Nutrition Surveillance System (SISVAN) were analyzed. The following indicators were adopted: continued breastfeeding; introduction of food; minimal food diversity; minimum frequency and adequate consistency; consumption of iron-rich foods; vitamin A and consumption of ultra-processed foods. The healthy eating markers did not reach 80%. Continued breastfeeding 48.3% to 52.2%. Food introduction 28.6% and 34.5%. Minimum food diversity 50% to 75.5%. Minimum frequency 56.9% and 63.9%. Consumption of foods rich in iron was low (15.4%), and vitamin A, 44.7% to 71.2%. The lowest consumption of ultra-processed products was 22.3%. Consumption of unhealthy food was low when compared to the state, the southern region and the country.
