- Abstract
The article offers information on the creation of Renewable Fuel Standard by the U.S. Congress for reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while encouraging economic development. Topics include role of program in increasing the use of biofuels for transportation while relying heavily on cornstarch-based ethanol; enactment of Energy Policy Act of 2005 for addressing energy issues in the country; and the role of Environmental Protection Agency in implementing the program.
