LIFTING THE ANTITRUST EXEMPTION PRESENTS A MAJOR PROBLEM FOR MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL.
- Authors
Hobbs, Michael K.
- Abstract
This Comment suggests that while on its surface, the antitrust exemption provided to Major League Baseball could be seen as a negative, there are actually a number of reasons the exemption is beneficial. Specifically, this Comment focuses on the benefits provided to the Minor League Baseball system by the antitrust exemption. This Comment argues that should Congress lift the antitrust exemption, Minor League Baseball as we know it would end due to the financial issues that would be created for Minor League Baseball Organizations and cities that hold Minor League Baseball teams.
