- Abstract
The article offers information on the role of drebrin, an actin binding protein, in cytoskeletal remodeling during pulmonary alveolar development. Topics include the formation of secondary septa in the lungs, the importance of myofibroblasts in this process, and the role of drebrin in stabilizing actin filaments and regulating myosin motors. Studies show that drebrin depletion impairs alveolar development, leading to enlarged alveolar ducts and reduced gas exchange surface area.
