- Abstract
In this article the author shares her experience of teaching art to kindergarten children. It is stated that she showed them works of art from a variety of time periods and cultures according to the curriculum. The author states that young children talk about works of art, whether their own creations or someone else's and talking about art strengthens language development at an age when children are developing a language system. According to the author artworks help children construct their own knowledge, encourages storytelling and fosters imaginative and critical thinking skills. The author thinks that a child's personality and viewpoint are reflected in her artwork and teachers must encourage her in pursuing her own way of working with art materials.
