- Abstract
The article investigates U.S. courts' consideration of a defendant's age when reviewing the defendant's understanding of his or her Miranda rights. Topics discussed include the challenges of applying Miranda to minor defendants, the provisions for a minor or a juvenile defendant's waiver of rights under Miranda and the U.S. Supreme Court cases that touch upon the issue of juvenile defendants' Miranda rights, including Miranda v. Arizona and J. D. B. v. North Carolina.
