- Title
Deciphering the RNA polymerase II structure: a personal perspective.
- Authors
Cramer, Patrick
- Abstract
The article presents the personal perspective of the author on how the Kornberg laboratory determined the structure of the RNA polymerase II core enzyme. The Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to Roger Kornberg from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, for his studies of the molecular basis of eukaryotic transcription. The author also provides information about the discoveries of Kornberg in the field of chemistry.
