- Abstract
A criticism is presented of the ballad poetry of 19th century English artist and poet Elizabeth Siddal. Topics discussed include the relationships between the ballads Siddal wrote and the works she painted based on the ballads of others, the ways in which Siddal, as a woman, used ballad forms, and Siddal's use of traditional Scottish ballads.
