- Abstract
The article develops a taxonomy to identify privacy problems in a comprehensive and concrete manner. The article provides an overview of various meanings of privacy. Examples of activities referred to as privacy violations include a newspaper reporting the name of a rape victim, reporters deceitfully gaining entry to a person's home and the government's use of a thermal sensor device to detect heat patterns in a person's home. The author provides a framework for how the legal system can come to better understanding of privacy.
