- Abstract
The article discusses strategies for special education teachers to create work-based learning experiences (WBLEs) in schools for secondary students with disabilities. It highlights the role of WBLEs in allowing students to explore various career areas, work styles and the type of work they enjoy. It discusses activities for teachers to implement WBLEs including career exploration, by conducting company tours, job shadowing, by holding a disability mentoring day, and apprenticeship programs.
