- Abstract
An essay is presented on the story of Duke Richard III of Gloucester and becomes the King of England. It talks about his monstrous birth within the context of related cultural matrices which is popular folklore, medieval chronicle history, and late medieval vernacular romance. The author argues that the story marks a discursive crossroads where cultures intersect with changing historiography in late medieval period.
