- Abstract
The article discusses a study that determines the effectiveness of using multiexponential transverse relaxation analysis to improve specificity of matrix assessment in mapping proteoglycan (PG)-bound water in cartilage. The researchers use mature and young bovine nasal cartilage model systems in mapping the PG-bound water fraction in cartilage. Study reveals a feasibility of performing imaging-based multiexponential analysis of transverse relaxation data in mapping PG in cartilage.
