- Abstract
The article presents a study which aims to determine the effect of petroleum vapors inhalation on the intestinal absorption of glucose and other amino acids in rats. The study employs decapitation, incubation, and everted gut sacs. Result shows an impairment of glucose and amino acids absorption in the intestine of rats as a result of petroleum inhalation and petroleum hydrocarbons on the intestinal enzymes showed inhibitory effect.
