- Abstract
This paper investigated the improved formulation of sodium rosinate solution as a colour developer for shooting residues of lead ions in bullet traces. Using a hyperspectral imager and reflectance to explore the effect of benzalkonium chlorides (BACs) on the stability of the sodium rhodizonate solution and its effect on colour redering, as well as the effect of its concentration and light conditions on the antioxidant effect. The results showed that the complexes was still formed after 4 d, and the stability of the solution was greatly enhanced, which prolonged the effectiveness of the sodium rhodizonate reagent, and the best effect was achieved at a concentration of 2.8% and under light-proof conditions. In terms of colour rendering, it was verified that benzalkonium chloride could not significantly enhance the colour rendering, but it could not affect the colour rendering during testing, and it is a suitable choice of antioxidant to facilitate the clinical chemical manifestation of lead ions in bullet traces.
