- Abstract
This paper presents the results of a qualitative research whose main objective was to identify the perception of the students of the Biology and Pedagogy courses of the Feira de Santana State University (UEFS), Bahia, Brazil on the consideration of the cultural diversity present in the classrooms of the moments of teaching and, based on this, support propositions that contribute to the curriculum of these courses and teacher training sensitive to cultural diversity. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews with ten future teachers. The statements were transcribed, and then, content analysis was performed. Most respondents believe they are not prepared to deal with the cultural diversity present in schools and classrooms, not even after their respective courses have been completed. We conclude that the insertion and interaction of the future teacher in the school environment should be done at the beginning of the course, and not in a reduced way to an isolated space, which restricts it only in the internship curricular components.
