- Abstract
An interview with Lonnie Bunch, historian, curator and the founding director of the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture, is presented. Bunch talks about how the museum was established and the distinctive features of the museum. He discusses the collection strategy and the curatorial practice of the museum. Bunch remarks that the museum is about American identity as much as it is about African American history.
