- Title
Walcott's Intertextual Method: Non-Greek Naming In "Omeros."
- Authors
Burnett, Paula
- Abstract
The article focuses on Derek Walcott's intertextual method in non-Greek naming in his poem "Omeros." Walcott is able to integrate and intertwine cultural intertexts and openly invites an intertextual reading of his poem "Omeros." The Greek parallels are never straightforward and are always secondary to the world that the poem explores. While less noticable, some of the other, non-Greek names Walcott utilizes also carry a symbolic literary significance.
