- Abstract
Chen Guisheng is a contemporary educationalist in China and has made abundant achievements in the field of basic theory of education. His "Reinterpreting the Teacher", a series of papers, and Understanding the Way to Be the Teacher, a collection of essays, expand people's understanding of teacher-related issues in a new perspective. Chen Guisheng's research and practice on teachers are mainly reflected in three aspects: firstly, based on the research and understanding of the history of education, he reinterprets Confucius' teaching activities and restores the original meaning of the art of "questioning and answering" between teachers and students; secondly, from the perspective of meta-pedagogy, he analyzes the theoretical construction of Herbart's General Pedagogy and reexamines the basic principles of "teachers' teaching"; thirdly, he clarifies the professional characteristics of primary and secondary school teachers and realistically explores the path of U-S teachers' cooperative research. In short, Chen Guisheng忆s theoretical exploration and practical demonstration in the field of teacher research provide the direction and guidance for the study of the basic theories of teacher education in China, and also provide the important theoretical reference for the professional self-development of primary and secondary school teachers.
