How Much Federal Money for Education?
- Abstract
The article presents information on the estimates of contributions to education by the federal government. A survey conducted for the National Education Association by Opinion Research Corp. found that the general public believed that federal support of public education is much greater than it actually is. The median estimate of contributions to education by the federal government was 30%. The survey also showed that 19% of those responding through the federal contribution was 50% or more.
