- Abstract
The article discusses the academic freedom in Latin America. Latin America's effort to make higher education relevant to the region is detailed. Information regarding the university reform movement is presented. It is mentioned that an intellectual revolution arose with the demand for drastic changes in the university system. The extent of Peronist intervention and control of the universities is explained. The failure of the governments' efforts to seize control of universities is discussed.
