- Authors
MASSEL, MARK S.
- Abstract
In this article the author discusses criticism of the U.S. administrative agencies. It states that agencies are blamed for several things such as undue delay, inefficiency, lack of rules, rules being too complex and tight and less understanding of problems of the concerned industry. It mentions that on the one hand agencies are criticized for not promulgating enough rules and on the other hand they are criticized for prejudging many issues. It reports that competitive policies of regulatory authorities are dedicated to promote competition but many government functions are not like protective tariffs that block foreign competition. It informs that the air transport industry shows influence of the government on regulatory agencies.
