- Abstract
The article focuses on state trading and economic warfare. It discusses four interrelated basic purposes of state trading adopted by countries, protection of domestic industries, improvement in the terms of trade, assistance in the maintenance of control over the domestic economy, and the conduct of economic warfare. It is stated that state trading is one of the easiest methods because it invests the state with substantially more bargaining power as compared to that can be attained by any private trader.
