PROGRAMMING CONTENT AND QUALITY.
- Authors
KENNEDY, ROGER
- Abstract
The article discusses several issues related to television and radio programming and content regulation in the U.S. The U.S. Federal Communications Commission controls the television and radio stations through its licensing power. As mentioned, it can less directly affect the networks by controlling the arrangements which stations can make with networks and as each network has several owned and operated stations. As suggested, the FCC should issue and enforce regulations that apportion commercial to program time. As suggested, the applicants for broadcasting licenses be held to their word and forced to perform their promises.
