- Authors
Liebman, Seymour B.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the institutions of the Argentine Jews. More than 140 Jewish communities are present in Argentina. Philanthropy of Baron Maurice de Hirsch of the Jewish Colonization Association was responsible for bringing Ashkenazic Jews to Argentina between 1889 and 1914. In 1860, the first synagogue was formed including groups of English, French and German Jews. The Sephardic immigration was smaller as compared to that of Ashkenazic. The smallest share for the same is constituted by the Palestine Jews.
