- Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze the historical origins and contemporary projection of theatre's autonomy, defined as the capacity of theater to create its own framework of creative legality. To do so, we start with a controversy raised in social networks from a newspaper article in which that autonomy was attacked, to continue, then, to the presentation of the two antagonistic models of approach to the theater from the perspective that guard the scene and literature. Once delimited both models, which, in the end, are well defined and confronted positions, we proceed to analyze one of the most important concepts in the path of autonomy, the concept of theatricalization, in its German origins and in the Spanish context, to pass, finally, to the conclusions, where a practical case of contemporary stage practice is exposed, only comprehensible in the light of this concept of theatre's autonomy.
