- Abstract
The article focuses on the American Bar Association (ABA) Model Act which governs the use of new technologies and therapeutic modes to assist in creation or gestation of an embryo in the U.S. The terms used in conjunction with the Model Act Governing Assisted Reproductive Technology are defined. Articles, sections and subsections of this act are also elaborated including mental health consultation, privacy and confidentiality, parental status of donor, effect of dissolution of marriage or withdrawal of consent, hearing to validate gestational agreement, and rights of parentage.
