- Abstract
The objective of this research was to know the level of preparation of future Physical Education teachers in the face of school violence. This study responds to a quantitative, non-experimental and cross-sectional methodology, where data was collected to know the impression of future teachers through an online questionnaire through the Google Forms tool. The sample consisted of 217 finalyear students of the Pedagogy in Physical Education career from nine Chilean training institutions. The results indicate that teachers in training identify bullying as an element that has a negative impact on student learning (98.6%), on the other hand, 55.3% indicate that they did not receive specific training to deal with episodes of school violence (SV). In turn, 48.4% indicate having knowledge about SV and 60% feel capable of identifying types of physical and verbal violence. It is concluded that it is essential that the training itinerary take into account the concepts of coexistence and school violence for the initial training of teachers.
