- Abstract
The article focuses on the approach of the North Carolina Central University (NCCU) to educational innovation and on broadening the engagement of students to STEM education. It mentions that the university participated at the Preparing Critical Future Faculty (PCFF) Program during the academic year 2010-2011, wherein NCCU had developed an action plan focusing on broadening engagement experiences for all STEM undergraduate majors through embedded project-based and inquiry-based activities. It states that the university also participated to the Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science (PHAGES) which is supported by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI).
