- Abstract
The article analyzes the applicability of liberal education in promoting understanding and appreciation of public health in the undergraduate education. With its objective of expanding the undergraduate public health movement, the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) collected data by primarily scanning and analyzing the undergraduate programs of various institutions. A survey was conducted where liberal education outcomes were determined as critical areas of focus in the institutions. Further, research results showed several logistical constraints in connecting public health and general education, high degree of interest, attention and activity in curricular innovation, substantial data on interdisciplinary courses, and a clear definition of public health.
