- Abstract
Intersphincteric resection for low rectal cancer entails dissection of a part of the sphincter and colo-anal anastomosis. DATA AVAILABILITY STATEMENT The data that support the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request. As opposed to laparoscopic surgery, where the surgeon uses an energy device to dissect and push the muscle fibres to mobilize the rectum, robotic surgery allows the surgeon to accurately grasp and manipulate the levator ani muscle fibres.
