- Title
No Jump Foreseen In Gulf Mold Claims.
- Authors
Marshall, Jeffrey; Heffes, Ellen M.
- Abstract
The article discusses homeowner's insurance in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and the U.S. Gulf Coast region. An insurance executive is quoted evaluating the mold insurance liability and expresses the opinion that mold coverage is not significant in comparison to general environmental damages. The Mississippi and Louisiana areas have seen extensive mold damage, however the homes in these areas have also had significant water and related damages. Mold coverage typically does not take precedence over general home insurance.
