- Abstract
The influence of treatment on the number of larvae that produced a cocoon was analyzed with an ANCOVA, where the factors were the age of the larvae treated and the treatment, and the covariate was the number of larvae that survived the treatment. The effect of the I B. bassiana i treatment was detectable from the third day on the L2-L3 larvae (Figure 2A), from the fourth day on the L4-L5 larvae (Figure 2B) and from the fifth day on the L6 larvae (Figure 2C). The strain of I B. bassiana i obtained from the larvae collected in the forest was sequenced and aligned with the I B. bassiana i species and has shown a different virulence against I C. perspectalis i larvae depending on the age of the larvae. Several larvae from the bioassays with L2-L3 and L4-L5 larvae prepared a cocoon (Table 5), remaining inside it as diapausing larvae, ceasing feeding and development.
