- Abstract
The effects of the hotel service contract, with particular regard to the rights of consumer tourists in relation to package travel services, including hotel services, are regulated at EU level, inter alia, by Council Directive 90/314 / EEC1. This necessitated the adaptation of the legislative framework, including to the developments of the tourism market, in order to ensure its adequacy to the specifics of the internal market, in order to eliminate ambiguities and to address legislative gaps. The rights of consumers of hotel tourism services, related to the obligations of tourism service providers, are to be presented in the context of the legislative framework provided by the Directive, with a view to improving the level of legal certainty for the benefit of travelers and traders. In this context of concern “the Internet has become an increasingly important medium through which travel services are offered or sold”2.
