The article discusses research which compared the rates of stent thrombosis and major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events after thienopyridine in patients treated with bare metal stents (BMS) taking aspirin. Topics covered include the rates of moderate/severe bleeding in patients treated with BMS, the minimum dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) recommended after BMS placement and the baseline characteristics of patients treated with BMS.
