- Abstract
The article provides an overview of the significance of short film formats in media studies. Short films are very popular due to the ubiquitous media landscape and the limited attention span of users. Although short films are popular among filmmakers and audiences, they play a marginal role in film and media studies. Nevertheless, short films are used in the university context as an experimental field for a new perspective on the subject of film analysis. The text deals with the importance and diversity of short films, both in the cinema and TV context. Various forms of short films and their significance in media cultural history are discussed, as well as filmmakers and short film projects mentioned. The text concludes with an examination of the dynamics of short film formats in the digital age.
