- Abstract
This paper aims to shed light on the religious procurators in the Modern Age, as a central piece to understand the dynamics of mobility and religious agency, specifically, of those overseas subjects present in Europe from the West Indies. The case of friar Antonio González de Acuña (1620-1682), a Dominican from Lima, is expressive for this purpose. His stay in Europe as procurator of Rose of Lima's apostolic process, becomes the object of study, researching in his strategies of political-cultural mediation through his writing activity. The comparative analysis of his five printed works with the correspondence that he maintained between Lima, Madrid and Rome, and the material artistic vestiges of his businesses, will provide the propaganda's keys of a successful European journey that led the Dominican to reach the bishopric of Caracas in 1671.
