- Abstract
Aspects of the validation of the CONV-3D module for modeling single-phase flows in a reactor installations with a liquid metal-coolant are expounded. Calculations of turbulent coolant flow in a round pipe were performed by the large-vortex method in comparison with the analytical data. The results of direct numerical simulation of sodium flow in a pipeline with aspect ratio l/d equal to 5 and 20 are presented. The module shows that difference between the results of calculations and experiments is less than 5% in temperature and satisfactory agreement of the temperature fluctuations. The validation shows the capabilities of the CONV-3D code for calculating flow parameters in round tubes for reactor installations with liquid metal coolant.
