- Abstract
The article presents a biography of Hermine Heusler-Edenhuizen, the first German female gynecologist, known for her work combating childbirth fever. The author probes the question of whether doctors' comments may serve to promote the further subsequent life of patients, using Heusler-Edenhuizen as an example of a physician who educated her patients. The author relies on Heusler-Edenhuizen's autobiography to extract and portray the pioneering physician's pedagogical efforts in treating patients.
