The article discusses the reasons why block booking can still adversely affect competition in the modern film industry, particularly in the U.S. Other topics include the Supreme Court ruling on block booking in the case U.S. v. Paramount that resulted in the so-called Paramount Decrees, the impact of block booking to the theatrical-licensing market, and the possible issues with the judicial review of block booking.
