- Abstract
The article focuses on a study conducted by Mary A. Whooley of the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in San Francisco, California and colleagues, which assesses patients with stable coronary heart disease to determine why major depressive disorder (MDD) symptoms are linked with an increased risk of cardiovascular events in such patients. It references a study published in the 2008 issue of the "Journal of the American Medical Association" (JAMA). The authors say that the relationship between MDD and cardiovascular events may be due to changes in behavior.
