- Abstract
An interview is presented with Jewish Israeli author Aharon Appelfeld, given as a seminar at the University of Pennsylvania in October 2011. Appelfeld discusses the pseudonym he used after escaping from a concentration camp in the Ukraine during World War II, his relationship with his father, and his life with criminals while in hiding, as well as his German-Jewish language, his Hebrew, and his mother's death.
