- Abstract
The article presents a randomized clinical trial study which was conducted to analyze whether supplemental parenteral nutrition reduces nosocomial infections. The study revealed that supplementation of enteral nutrition (EN) with parenteral nutrition (PN) reduces nosocomial infection and did not affect several secondary endpoints which include mortality, duration of mechanical ventilation and intensive care unit (ICU) length of stay.
