- Abstract
The article discusses the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit's ruling in the 2012 case World Publishing Co. v. U.S. Department of Justice which deals with the nation's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and privacy interests in federal booking photographs (mug shots). According to the article, government agencies in America must disclose information in its possession when it received a valid FOIA request. Invasion of privacy claims and FOIA-related exemptions are also examined.
