- Abstract
The article focuses on the issue on how English/language arts teachers make use of knowledge about creativity and aesthetic reading stance to improve the reading ability of students. It recounts on various strategies that teachers have applied to improve their student's efferent reading stance. According to Louise Rosenblatt, aesthetic reading happens if the reader can savor the images, the sounds, the smells, the actions, the associations as well as the feelings that the words are pointing to. Thus, advices the teachers to stop inadvertently putting students into an efferent stance by asking reading comprehension question but require to just enjoy a text aesthetically and read it for true pleasure.
