- Abstract
The article presents a study that evaluates the materials to be used for the improvement of rating scales through the collection, editing and evaluating descriptive statements. The study is undertaken through assembling 2,000 short and descriptive statements, which were assembled from written notes based on the transcripts of several interviews. The results of the study reveal that ten or more judges can evaluate rating statements with a high degree of reliability. The results also show that more statements are indicative of a certain degree of success based on occupations including foremanship.
