Finalists for NASA Quality Award.
- Abstract
Six finalists emerged from an original group of 47 contenders in competition for the first U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Excellence Award for Quality and Productivity. After extensive review of detailed application reports and indepth on-site evaluations by teams from NASA and American Society for Quality Control, these six companies includes, Life Systems Inc., Martin Marietta Michoud Aerospace, McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Company, Reynolds Metals McCook Sheet and Plate Plant, Rockwell International Space Transportation Systems Division, and United Technologies Pratt & Whitney Government Products Division, were judged to demonstrate sustained excellence in productivity and quality.
